Description: On August 13, 2023, A training session was held for Younes & Soraya Nazarian Library employees on the library’s accessibility procedure and service for people with disabilities. The training is based on the procedure 28.11 from the List of university procedures (attached), which deals with “accessible service in the Younes & Soraya Nazarian Library”. The session was delivered by Dr. Yael Shraga Roitman, an occupational therapist, licensed service accessibility professional, lecturer and researcher at Ono Academic College, on behalf of the Accessibility and Learning Disabilities Department, Dean of Students, University of Haifa. Notice on the management of areas on the campuses of the University of Haifa

Description: According to a decision dated March 30, 2023, the management of the areas on the various campuses was transferred to the responsibility of the Vice President and CEO. Activities for mapping the campus areas are being conducted these days, with the aim of establishing a multi-year work plan, which will allow the university to optimally serve the needs of research and teaching, while maximizing the naturally limited area resource. Remote working pilot for administrative staff

Description: The University’s HR department has approved remote working (working from home) pilot for a period of 3 months starting from Monday 01.11.2021 and later extended till the present day. The pilot is based on working from home one day a week, subject to filling out an application and agreeing form. Remote working will be approved for employees whose role and nature of work allow working remotely and fulfilling the duties of the position in full. (more…)

Reducing the use of disposable cups and water bottles throughout the campus

Description: As part of the sustainability vision of the University of Haifa and it’s day-to-day efforts to protect the environment, on 01.06.2022 university administration issued a new guideline document regarding the use of disposable utensils on campus, especially non-biodegradable ones. It includes two practical instructions that will take effect immediately: 1. Staff members are asked to stop using disposable cups and switch to use a reusable personal cups. 2.
