Turning an unnecessary garment into a treasure! – a second-hand clothing stall

Description: As part of the University’s commitment to sustainable consumption, on the eve of the Jewish New Year 2023 a second-hand clothing stall was set up on campus. The employees were invited to “sort out closets” and bring clothes in good condition that would make others happy and of course find a “new” garments for themselves and their family members. Recycling stations and location of large orange bins throughout the campus

Description: In recent years, we have been able to reduce the amount of packaging waste that goes to landfill, with the help of separating the packaging and recycling it. When the packages are collected separately and arrive as clean as possible at the sorting station, they are sorted and directed to the various recycling plants that exist mostly in Israel, for the benefit of Israeli industry. As part of the SDG 12 goal and as a step towards its implementation at the University of Haifa, the Operations department coordinated recycling stations in central locations throughout the campus and also placed large orange bins by courtesy of the Haifa Municipality. Description: As part of the sustainability vision of the University of Haifa and it’s day-to-day efforts to protect the environment, on 01.06.2022 university administration issued a new guideline document regarding the use of disposable utensils on campus, especially non-biodegradable ones.
