Description: In recent years, we have been able to reduce the amount of packaging waste that goes to landfill, with the help of separating the packaging and recycling it. When the packages are collected separately and arrive as clean as possible at the sorting station, they are sorted and directed to the various recycling plants that exist mostly in Israel, for the benefit of Israeli industry. As part of the SDG 12 goal and as a step towards its implementation at the University of Haifa, the Operations department coordinated recycling stations in central locations throughout the campus and also placed large orange bins by courtesy of the Haifa Municipality. More information about the types of waste intended for orange bins and their location throughout the campus can be found on the website of the university’s Operations department.
