Description: On March 8, 2023, in honor of the International Women’s Day, the Cultural Center in the Library hosted the discussion on the topic – “Woman. Life. Freedom – The Women’s Struggle in Iran and Afghanistan”, led by Prof. Soli Shahvar from the Department of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies. One of the speakers was the correspondent of Iran International in Israel, Ashkan Safaei, accompanied by video operator, and highlights of the the event were later broadcasted by the channel: https://twitter.com/i/status/1633710501204217857 The speakers of both genders presented different angles of the struggle for women’s rights – from media coverage of violent incidents against women, through female poetry and art activity, to the physical escape of women from Afghanistan controlled by the Taliban.
