Description: On May 10, 2023, a conference on Higher Education from the perspective of Multiculturalism was held at the University of Haifa. Similarly to the higher education systems around the world, in Israel too the gates of the academy have been opened to diverse populations in terms of social, demographic and economic aspects. Multiculturalism in academy provides opportunities for renewal and diversity, as well as imposes responsibility for optimal integration, dealing with challenges of rethinking, changing and adjusting. At the conference were discussed also the consequences of this major development on the higher education institutions, its existing and required services to meet diverse populations’ needs. Finally, it focused on the question of whether these processes guarantee real social mobility for those populations?
