Description

University of Haifa for Youth has published in April 2024 a call for academic staff and graduate students to take positions as personal supervisors for the High School students of the “Idea” Program. The “Idea” Program is intended for talented and gifted high school students who are interested in the humanities and social sciences. The Program’s students are exposed to the fundamentals of academic research, taught critical thinking skills, and finally write research projects under the tutelage of personal supervisors, members of academic staff or graduate students. Their research projects are recognized by the Ministry of Education as a final project for a five-point advanced matriculation subject.

The teaching program for the academic year 2024-2025 started with the summer camp which took place between 23.06 – 05.07.2024. It was held in the format of introductory meetings with future supervisors, who exposed the students to their research areas, allowing them to choose their preferred research topics.

At the beginning of the 10th grade (academic year after the summer camp), the students will write their research proposals under the personal guidance of chosen supervisors, until the final submission of theses during the 11th grade.
