University of Haifa proudly granted Honorary Degrees on former US President Bill Clinton and President Emeritus of New York University Prof. John E. Sexton, in New York City. The honorary doctorate was given in recognition of Clinton’s support for Israel, his actions promoting coexistence in the region, as well as the work of the Clinton Global Initiative promoting social and economic sustainability. Furthermore, the honorary doctorate recognized his friendship and close partnership for peace with former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. Prof. John Sexton was awarded the degree for his work in promoting diversity in education and championing academic excellence.
