SDG Highlights
Description
An Exhibition “Embroidered on the Body” by the artist Batia Shani inaugurated the new and spacious art gallery in the Younes & Soraya Nazarian Library. It was ceremonially opened on the occasion of the 52nd session of the Board of Trustees at the University of Haifa in June 2024, also awarding Shani an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree.
The exhibition unfolds before the public a selection of works created by Batia Shani in recent decades, all of them handmade with embroidery and sewing on the substrate of used clothes, upholstery fabrics, old tablecloths and scraps of fabric.
