The Ebisu Sign Language Theatre Laboratory, established by Prof. Wendy Sandler, funded by the European Union, has performed internationally.  Their latest production, for deaf and hearing audiences alike, is called “Third Person,” about the important but sometimes strikingly ambivalent relationship between signers and interpreters. In addition, the Sign Language Research Lab has many other innovative projects, such as working to reach indigenous sign languages found in small towns and villages, some of them still emerging before our eye.
