Description: The purpose of the protocol of safe disposal of biological waste from university laboratories is to comprehensively regulate the handling and safe disposal of biological waste, and it must be adapted to the needs of the organization, referring to the types of infectious waste, the various safety levels and the requirements of the regulatory bodies. In this way, the institution will be able to ensure the protection of the health of the employees and the prevention of harm to the environment. The document defines various types of biological waste and describes different types of collection containers according to the type of waste. Further described are safe methods of handling of this waste and it’s final removal from campus by external parties.
