Environmental policy, safety and health in employment, at the University of Haifa

Description: University of Haifa holds detailed procedures documents in the fields of safety, health in employment, and the environment. It describes University’s goals, policies and practical measures in each area, as well as divisions of roles and responsibilities between various units and their officials. Regarding the environmental policy area (section 3.3), the University meets the requirements of the standard ISO 14001:2004. It includes proactive monitoring and tracking of non-conformances, saving water, electricity and fuel, reducing the amounts and types of waste sent to landfill, increasing the amount and types of waste sent for recycling, prevention of sewage pollution, prevention of surface soil pollution, and reducing of air pollution.
