Five years ago, the university began to employ sanitary workers directly, as opposed to through a contractor. Prof. Naomi Schreuer from the Department of Occupational Therapy, conducted an evaluation study together with the Operations Unit. The study, which was based on workshops and other activities with the workers, showed that it was best to continue to employ sanitation workers directly throughout the institution, it will help them to understand that they are part of the university community.
