At last year’s  Dubai Expo 2020 Food, Agriculture, & Livelihoods Week, Prof. Tzion Fahima of the Department of Evolutionary and Environmental Biology and the head of the Laboratory of Plant Genomics and Disease Resistance at the Institute of Evolution, presented his academic innovations at the ‘Food for All’ day, where he discussed how to protect food crops from devastating diseases in order to increase food security and environmental safety. Fahima notes that he is especially proud of his multi-cultural team from 5 religious backgrounds, who are coming together to find solutions for food insecurity.
