Description

Curators at the University of Haifa have made a remarkable discovery by finding three previously undiscovered sketches by the renowned 20th-century artist Amedeo Modigliani concealed beneath the surface of one of his paintings. These unfinished works, hidden for years, were unveiled during an X-ray examination of Modigliani’s “Nude with a Hat” at the University’s Hecht Museum as part of a comprehensive forensic study for an upcoming exhibition at the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia. Inna Berkowits, an art historian at the Hecht Museum, said it was “quite an amazing discovery.”
