Children browsing game books at station 1 of the activity, 16.08.2023

Description

A series of meetings with the collection of Children & Youth Library at the University Library, intended for parents and children aged 4-9. At the first meeting children met the “Game books”. They were invited to browse through various game books, read themselves or listen to the stories from these books, and finally to create game books of their own. The meeting took place on 16.08.2023 between 16:30-18:00 p.m., at the entrance hall of the library, and was led by members of the library staff.

The activity included a “journey” between several stations. At station 1 the children received an explanation about the activity and were introduced to the game books on various topics: the human body, nutrition, basics of science, animal world, space, transportation vehicles, and so on.

At station 2 the children received recycled paper booklets and creative materials to create a game books of their own:

 

 

And station 3 was dedicated to the story-telling, where students from the library staff read aloud to little listeners familiar and beloved stories. More details and full program
