Among the researches presented were also two by Haifa female scholars. Prof. Noya Rimalt from the Faculty of Law lectured on “And what will happen to the size of the Jewish people?” – The story of the Israeli abortion law” and Dr. Shani Stern from the Neurobiology Department spoke about “The difference and similarity between autism and schizophrenia”. “The similarity in the difference” – Opening of a photo-voice exhibition

Description: An exhibition of graduation projects of the course “Photo-voice”, taught at the University of Haifa, is a result of a collaboration between the Rector’s Office and the Dean of Students. The exhibition was held at the entrance hall of the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Library, University of Haifa, since March 16, 2023. During the “Photo-voice” course, male and female students from various departments have formed a discussion and joint work group. The exhibits embody the work in a group, starting with bringing up ideas and topics for discussion, through training and learning about photo-voice and photography, to taking photographs on campus, outdoors and at home, under the guidance of the social worker Rana Samaan Jubran. Each project is steeped in the personal experiences of its creator, through which the group members learn about the differences and similarities between them.

Description: The goal of the Commission for the Prevention of Sexual Harassment at the University of Haifa is to serve as address for inquiries and to provide assistance to victims of sexual harassment within the University’s community. The Commission is striving to increase awareness of the extent of the phenomenon, its diverse characteristics, and a firm stand on the principle of: If there is a doubt – there is no doubt! Periodically, the Commission issues an information bulletin dedicated to a specific topic from various aspects related to its activity. The June 2023 bulletin encourages anyone who becomes witnesses of sexual harassment to report it to the Commission immediately. According to the new regulations, University officials are required to report to the Commission as soon as they become aware of it within their area of responsibility. Establishing a Diversity, Inclusion and Community Array

Description: The University of Haifa is proud to announce the establishment of a Diversity, Inclusion and Community Array, led by Prof. Arin Salamah-Qudsi from the Department of Arabic Language and Literature and Dr. Yael Granot-Bein, who until recently served as the director of the social engagement unit in the Dean of Students.
The establishment of the Array is a significant step towards implementing the vision of social sustainability, promoted by the University of Haifa. The university community reflects Israeli society, in all its social diversity and heterogeneity. Intelligent and proactive management of the campus in terms of diversity is a necessary condition for growth and innovation, and for strengthening the sense of belonging and cohesion among faculty members and students. The Diversity, Inclusion and Community Array will be responsible for mapping the various populations represented on campus and creating opportunities for dialogue between members of the administrative and academic faculty, male and female students from different population groups.
